Where we came from
You know the old phrase, when you receive lemons, you make lemonade? Well we received a bunch of lemons, had some left over and decided to make shirts rather than more lemonade!
After the 11 week early arrival of our son Spencer, then a diagnosis of a rare brain malformation (try and say Rhombencephalosynapsis 3 times fast), Julie left the Army after 16 years to be a stay at home mom.
She needed something to do with her time so launched It’s a Preemie Thing in 2010, starting with some sarcastic sayings for her son.
When others started asking for fun onesies/shirts, she branched out and started making lots of other things for other folks.
Northwest Printed Apparel (renamed from Togs N Things) was launched in 2012.
Not only does it allow Julie to enjoy what she’s doing, she is awarded the flexibility to spend time with her son after school and make all those crazy PT and doc appointments while enjoying the work she does as well.
